The words you choose shape more than your message—they shape your confidence, influence, and leadership presence.
In this week’s podcast, I share 5 tips on how to shift your language to instantly elevate your presence. You can listen here.
Here’s one of my favorite shifts:
Tip 1: Speak Toward What You Want — Not What You Fear
Many people unintentionally focus their language on what they don’t want.
Examples:
- “Don’t mess this up.”
- “Let’s hope nothing goes wrong.”
- “We can’t afford mistakes.”
Your brain hears the negative image first.
Instead, leaders speak toward the outcome.
Try:
- “Let’s execute this well.”
- “Our goal is a smooth rollout.”
- “Let’s focus on doing this right.”
The shift seems small, but it directs attention toward success instead of anxiety.
Let me know how it goes!
